Our task was to create signage with a new name, improved wayfinding and distinctive color graphics to identify 15 commercial units and support tenants doing business in this former 1960s lumber yard in the “arts district” of Sierra Madre, a charming small town east of Pasadena at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Challenged with unifying two architectural styles, dominated by a 100+ year-old wooden bungalow facing the street, we decided on a classic Arts & Crafts-era design, complementing the name designation for this neighborhood. We paid close attention to creating optimal locations for Montecito Arts Village signage and suites directory, and parking information.
