    Star Quality
    Tom Hooten, Classical Musician

Tom Hooten is Principal Trumpet in the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He also teaches and gives masterclasses and workshops worldwide.

Tom knew his “personal brand” needed an upgrade to showcase his elite work with the LA Phil, to market himself as a solo/guest artist, and as a teacher/clinician.

Our team directed a location photo shoot at Walt Disney Concert Hall and designed a custom website and visuals to showcase Tom’s current professional life. The gleaming silver concert hall provided the perfect backdrop for stunning images!

Site contains Tom’s concert schedule, videos, recordings, and an embedded Twitter feed. Two pages have “hidden blogs” easily updated by client (Performances and News).

“I am so excited about my new website! Working with Emilie was so easy and fluid in terms of getting my ideas into reality. She was flexible with her ideas and we enjoyed the collaborative nature of creating and designing a custom website that reflects who I am as a performer and teacher.”

An Invaluable Online Forum for Performers
Ask a Performer, a website moderated by Jennifer Marotta

Classical musicians appreciate our classic sense of design
It's always fun to collaborate with fellow artists. We enjoy listening to a lot of music —baroque and chamber music, opera and big symphonic pieces. We understand thetwists and turns of life as a performing artist, and enjoy working with creative people.

    Jennifer Marotta
Jen is a talented professional musician and trumpet teacher in the L.A. area. She reallyliked our website and print design work for her husband, L.A. Phil principal trumpet TomHooten (tomhooten.com), and asked us to design her new site. Weare privileged to work with this dynamic duo, L.A.'s classical music power couple.

Ask a Performer features true stories by artists who have "defied theodds."

The Forum section is for posting questions and comments on popular topics common toperformers. This section will grow as readers contribute helpful information. Jen is asavvy user of social media and has many contacts in the music world, and she is busyspreading the word about the new site to her friends and colleagues.

Visual elements include stylish, modern artwork, complementary color scheme, clear, concise navigation, and easy-to-read pages. Photographer Vic Pallos shot the stunningnew portraits of Jennifer at Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Theevolving city skyline adds a dramatic touch.

WordPress framework and Forum sections are in place; client Jennifer can add stories asneeded and moderate the Forum easily. Our complete instructions make it straightforwardfor clients to edit WordPress sites once a design is established. This is a win-winfor everyone. For more about this project, visit our blog HERE.

    Let’s Play Tennis!
    The Racket Doctor

Randy Kramer, owner of Southern California’s well-known tennis retail store, asked us to update the store’s website. His old site needed a major makeover! The new site is mobile-friendly and easy to navigate, and launched prior to the Wimbledon Championships in June 2015. Many shoppers come from around the globe to shop at this great L.A. store.

A clean, modern look, new location photos of merchandise, staff members and expert racquet stringers in action are featured. A detailed section about the store’s history is included along with many vintage photos. Tennis-related websites are also linked.

    A Beautiful Tribute
    Bugle Memorial Honors

Sheldon Gordon is a longtime family friend and talented musician. He asked us to create a new site with a targeted audience of funeral directors, cemeteries and military families.

  • Medical Practice Website

    Physical Therapists to the Stars
    Joubert Physical Therapy

Karen Joubert asked Emilie to create a bold website for her Beverly Hills practice. Karen and her team treat professional athletes, “weekend warriors,” seniors and everyone in between. We paired sports-themed imagery with patient-friendly orthopedic information in a clean, modern look — site is easy to navigate and update as clinic adds services or staff. Website is key to a marketing strategy which also includes social media and print.

Our firm handled art direction, design, writing and photography and oversaw site development and programming. We also designed red Swiss ball corporate identity, fine stationery and interior signage.

We love sports. Our friend Ron Zambrano is an L.A.-area tennis pro who asked us to create a site for his tennis academy. We shot location photos at Scholl Canyon in Glendale, and designed a responsive site which is easy to update throughout the year.

    Physical Therapy Techniques for Professionals
    Movement Links

Prior to our re-design, Movement Links’ site was several years’ old and had dark backgrounds which made text difficult to read. For the new site, we incorporated client's existing “red feather” logo into nameplate design and lightened up the visuals.

We also took new staff portraits, directed development and launch, improved social media integration and designed a new blog. Site now features PayPal/shopping cart functionality (added in 2015).

“Emilie came highly recommended by Karen Joubert to work on my website. It needed a lot of work. Emilie and her team were a pleasure to work with. I appreciated her taking the time to consider what I wanted on the website and designing the website with that in mind. Emilie kept me abreast of the website’s progress, and regularly sent me drafts of pages for edits. I love the “clean” look of the website and the ease of navigation. I can’t express my thanks enough to Emilie for her patience, and for making this process so “painless” and “stress-free.” You are awesome, Emilie. THANK YOU.”
