We met Bill Boyd, principal of the commercial real estate office Charles Dunn Company Tri-Cities, through a mutual client. Star Quality
    Tom Hooten, Classical Musician

Tom Hooten is Principal Trumpet in the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He also teaches at USC, is a soloist and guest artist, is active in the studio scene, and gives masterclasses and workshops worldwide.

We first met Tom a few years ago, not long after he came to L.A. We designed and developed a custom website which debuted in time for his his solo bow with the orchestra (Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto).

Fast-forward to 2017. “Hooten 2.0” is also a custom site, fully-compatible with all modern digital devices, and showcases Tom’s work with the LA Phil, as a guest artist, and as teacher / clinician. Three ‘hidden blogs’ make it a snap for Tom to update Performances, Resources: Inspirations and News pages himself (like at 1 a.m. after a concert! Please don’t call us at that hour... :))

“I am so excited about my new website! Working with Emilie was so easy and fluid in terms of getting my ideas into reality. She was flexible with her ideas and we enjoyed the collaborative nature of creating and designing a custom website that reflects who I am as a performer and teacher.”

    Valuable Online Forum for Performers
Ask a Performer, a website moderated by Jennifer Marotta

Classical musicians appreciate our “classic” sense of design
Early music, opera, big symphonic works — we are always going to concerts or listening to recordings!

    Jennifer Marotta
Jen is a talented musician and trumpet teacher in Los Angeles. She was impressed with our website design for her husband Tom (tomhooten.com), and asked us to design her “Forum” site. We are privileged to work with this dynamic duo, L.A.'s classical music power couple.

Ask a Performer features true stories by artists who have “defied the odds.”

Forum — for posting questions and comments on topics common to performers. This section will continue to evolve and grow. Jen is a savvy user of social media, and has many contacts in the music world.

Site’s visual elements include stylish artwork, grid-based page design and clear navigation. Vic Pallos shot stunning portraits of Jen at Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, the center of a booming arts scene.

WordPress framework and Forum sections are in place; Jennifer can add stories and moderate Forum sections easily. Our instructions make it straightforward for clients to edit/update customized WordPress sites. For more about project, visit our blog HERE.

    Let’s Play Tennis!
    The Racket Doctor

Randy Kramer, owner of Southern California’s well-known tennis retail store, asked us to update the store’s website. His old site needed a major makeover! The new site is mobile-friendly and easy to navigate, and launched prior to the Wimbledon Championships in June 2015. Many shoppers come from around the globe to shop at this great L.A. store.

A clean, modern look, new location photos of merchandise, staff members and expert racquet stringers in action are featured. A detailed section about the store’s history is included along with many vintage photos. Tennis-related websites are also linked.

    A Beautiful Tribute
    Bugle Memorial Honors

Sheldon Gordon is a longtime family friend and talented musician. He asked us to create a new site with a targeted audience of funeral directors, cemeteries and military families.

Dramatic new location photos from the annual Memorial Day Commemoration at Forest Lawn, Glendale, add the perfect visual element. This site is geared toward someone who is searching for a musician to play for a loved one’s memorial service or funeral.

  • Medical Practice Website

    Physical Therapists to the Stars
    Joubert Physical Therapy

Karen Joubert asked Emilie to create a bold website for her Beverly Hills practice. Karen and her team treat professional athletes, “weekend warriors,” seniors and everyone in between. We paired sports-themed imagery with patient-friendly orthopedic information in a clean, modern look — site is easy to navigate and update as clinic adds services or staff. Website is key to a marketing strategy which also includes social media and print.

Our firm handled art direction, design, writing and photography and oversaw site development and programming. We also designed red Swiss ball corporate identity, fine stationery and interior signage.

    Game, Set and Match!
    RZ Tennis

We love sports. Our friend Ron Zambrano is an L.A.-area tennis pro who asked us to create a site for his tennis academy. We shot location photos at Scholl Canyon in Glendale, and designed a responsive site which is easy to update throughout the year.

    Physical Therapy Techniques for Professionals
    Movement Links

Prior to our re-design, Movement Links’ site was several years’ old and had dark backgrounds which made text difficult to read. For the new site, we incorporated client's existing “red feather” logo into nameplate design and lightened up the visuals.

We also took new staff portraits, directed development and launch, improved social media integration and designed a new blog. Site now features PayPal/shopping cart functionality (added in 2015).

“Emilie came highly recommended by Karen Joubert to work on my website. It needed a lot of work. Emilie and her team were a pleasure to work with. I appreciated her taking the time to consider what I wanted on the website and designing the website with that in mind. Emilie kept me abreast of the website’s progress, and regularly sent me drafts of pages for edits. I love the “clean” look of the website and the ease of navigation. I can’t express my thanks enough to Emilie for her patience, and for making this process so “painless” and “stress-free.” You are awesome, Emilie. THANK YOU.”
